The Squadron’s next boating safety class begins April 1

MISHAWAKA — South Bend Sail and Power Squadron is offering another boating safety class for area boaters.

The class begins Monday, April 1, and will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Monday for six weeks, concluding May 6. All classes are at the Battell Center, 904 N. Main St., Mishawaka.

An accelerated class is offered at Pier 33 in St. Joseph, Mich. on April 27, May 1 and May 18.

The class focuses on the basics of boating safety, including seamanship, boat handling, navigation aids, regulations and more. There is an optional introductory piloting section as well.
