Elkhart woman arrested for possession of marijuana

ELKHART — A woman was arrested after police found about a pound and a half of marijuana near downtown Elkhart.
According to a press release from the Elkhart Police Department, members of the Drug Unit and the Special Response Team executed a search warrant Wednesday morning, March 13, at 127 Park Ave. after an investigation.
They arrested Cassandra Taylor, 39, of Elkhart, on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park, and possession of a handgun by a serious violent felon.
Police also found in the residence a handgun, money and scales.
Taylor was booked in the Elkhart County Jail on Wednesday afternoon without a bond.
