ELKHART — Two Elkhart teenagers were injured in a one-car accident on Keltner Road just north of Penwell when a car left the roadway and hit a tree about 5:10 p.m. Saturday, March 9.

The driver of the vehicle, 16-year-old Martin Olais, was taken to the hospital for treatment of a broken femur.

A Medevac helicopter landed in the area on the city’s southeast side and flew Olais’ passenger, 16-year-old Marcus Fernandez, to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for pain in his arm and abdomen.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
