NorthWoods Olson earns pair of basketball honors hoops

In addition, several area players were named to the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/Subway Senior and Underclass All-State teams. Olson is an Underclass first-teamer.
Olson, a 5-foot-11 forward, averaged 19.9 points per game in 2012-13 for coach Steve Neff’s 22-4 Black Swish.
Core-group players (Mt. Vernon-Fortville’s Erica Moore, Evansville Mater Dei’s Maura Muensterman, Fort Wayne Canterbury’s Kindell Fincher, Homestead’s Sydney Buck, Columbus North’s Tayler Goodall and Logansport’s Whitney Jennings) will play in all four games June 7, 8, 10 and 12 (with sites to be announced later).
“North Six” (Olson, Westfield’s Kayla Brown, Warsaw’s Nikki Grose, LaPorte’s Jaclyn Heath, Roncalli’s Kellie Kirkhoff and Fort Wayne Concordia’s Courtney Smith) and “South Six” (Rushville’s Mackenzie Campbell, Ben Davis’ Danielle Cuttino, Barr-Reeve’s Jenna Knepp, Lawrence North’s Ana Owens and Destiny Washington and Bloomington South’s Lauren Whitlatch) groups will play one game each against the Indiana seniors and Kentucky juniors.
Warsaw’s Michelle Harter is the Junior All-Stars head coach. She will be assisted by Austin’s Jared Peterson and Hamilton Heights’ Tod Windlan.
Area senior all-state honorable mention was accorded to Central’s Tia Garnett, Goshen’s Aimee Swihart, Northridge’s Haley Schrock and Madison Schrock, NorthWood’s Savannah Bley, Wawasee’s KiLee Knafel, Penn’s Olivia Carlton and Taylor Lutz and Marian’s Katie Barnard.
Area underclass all-state honorable mention picks are Memorial’s Khadijah Moore, Goshen’s Deja Felder, Northridge’s Morgan Miller and Taylor Miller andNorthWood’s Jordyn Frantz.
