MILLERSBURG — A two-vehicle accident two miles north of Millersburg injured five people Tuesday afternoon.

Shannon Brown, 35, of Sturgis, Mich., was driving easton C.R. 38 west of S.R. 13 at 4:09 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, when her truck crossed the center line and was struck by an oncoming vehicle, according to a news release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

Brown was transported to IU Health-Goshen with an injury to her left arm, a fractured pelvis and a cut on her head.

The driver of the other vehicle and her three passengers were also transported to IU Health-Goshen. All four are residents of Millersburg.

The driver, Toni Chupp, 39, complained of head and shoulder pain; passenger Laura Chupp, 14, suffered a laceration to her nose; Bobbie Thaxton, 35, complained of neck pain; and Alexis Thaxton, 14, suffered a cut lip.

No citations were issued at the scene and the accident is still under investigation.
