ELKHART — Holly Lehman, a senior gymnast at Elkhart Central, has been named to the 2012-13 Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association academic all-state first team.

Lehman, who has qualified for the Valparaiso Regional on Friday, March 8, is ranked fourth in her class with a 3.9 grade-point average. She has received a $12,000 presidential scholarship from Indiana University, where she plans to be a student only.

Lehman earned four varsity letters in gymnastics at Central for coach Kathy Krauter, helping the Blue Blazers to sectional team championships in 2010 and 2011. She helped set team school records on the beam, floor and varsity meet score. She was a two-time team MVP (2012, 2013), three-time Performance Award winner (2011, 2012, 2013), rookie of the year (2010) and Kiwanis Athlete of the Month (2012).

A pole vault and sprinter in track, she has already earned three letters heading into her senior season this spring.
