Goshen woman killed by man from prior relationship

GOSHEN — Police have identified the man and woman involved in a murder-suicide Monday morning, March 4.

According to a press release, Eric Haitsma, 51, and a former Goshen Police officer, shot and killed Millicent Morros, 48, of Goshen. Morros was originally from Niles, Mich. and was currently employed at Yoder, Ainlay, Ulmer, and Buckingham. His first name was John, according to police, but he was known in the community as Eric Haitsma.

According to Denise Davis, an attorney at the law firm, Morros had recently been promoted to be an estate paralegal.

Police were called to the 100 block of Fifth Street around 7:47 a.m., where the two bodies were found on a parking lot a block east of the law firm where she worked.

Upon investigation, police learned the Morros and Haitsma knew each other and had a previous relationship, according to the release.
