One person was at home when fire broke out at a house on C.R. 24 Sunday evening, March 3, but was able to escape without injury before firefighters arrived.

Concord firefighters were called to the home at 24420 C.R. 24 just after 8 p.m. Concord requested assistance, and tankers came from Harrison, Baugo, Wakarusa and Elkhart Township fire departments.

Concord Deputy Chief David Miller said the rear and the roof were fully involved upon arrival and sustained the worst damage.

Firefighters said C.R. 24 between C.R. 11 and C.R. 13 would be shut down for several hours.

The blaze was under control by 10 p.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
