IVINS, Utah — Mary Ellen Wentland passed away at her sister’s home in Ivins Monday, Feb. 25, 2013.

She was born in South Bend, Ind., on April 12, 1951, and grew up in Elkhart, Ind., with her parents, Maurice and Mary Jane Kohl.

She moved to southern Utah in 1984, where she lived as a homemaker and raised a nephew, Russell Kohl.

She was a wonderful person and loved her family, and had a tremendous impact on every person she came in contact with. She spent her time listening to records and caring for her beloved animals.

She is survived by her brother, Larry (Peggy) Wentland and his three children; sister Patricia (Andy) Norment and her three children; sister Donna Kohl; and sister Judy Hutton and her three children; nephew Russell Kohl and his two children; and 10 other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald (Nancy) Bowen, David (Amy) Wentland and Maurice Kohl II.

A private family service will be held.
