Comcast increasing internet speeds for customers at no extra cost

The Blast! plan will increase from download speeds of 25 Mbps to 50 Mbps and upload speeds from 4 Mbps to 10 Mbps. The Extreme 50 plan will increase from 50 Mbps download speeds to 105 Mbps, with upload speeds from 15 Mbps to 30 Mbps. Both plans will be increased within the next month.
The Performance plan will increase download speeds to 20 or 25 Mbps from 15 Mbps, with upload speeds increasing from 2 Mbps to 4 or 5 Mbps. The Performance plan will be increased in April.
Current customers will need to re-start the cable modems in their homes to get the increased speed.
Comcast prices rose 6.7 percent in the first half of 2012, and company spokeswoman Angelynne Amores said that the final 2012 price increases are expected to be in the high single digits.
