U.S. 33 west of Elkhart closed because of van accident

ELKHART — A one-vehicle accident just west of Elkhart has closed U.S. 33 temporarily.

Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, Baugo and Concord emergenty rescue units along with Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call of a van which had crashed into a utility pole near Elk Park Drive, which located is between C.R. 1 and C.R. 3.

The passenger of a Dodge mini-van was pinned inside the vehicle.

Crews from AEP are on the scene.
