ELKHART — Depending on temperature changes, Elkhart County could continue to see rainy conditions through the afternoon before changing to snow tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

But the chance for sleet and ice will linger later this afternoon.

Temperatures will hover a few degrees above freezing and lows are only expected to fall to 32 tonight.

Today’s high is expected to be 36. Winds gusting up to 30 mph are possible later in the day.

A slight chance of sleet and ice accumulation is possible this afternoon.

The weather service predicts snow could begin falling after 8 p.m., but only an inch or so is expected tonight.

The chance of snow showers will continue Wednesday. New accumulation is expected to be about an inch, according to the weather service.
