Three injured in crash on C.R. 50 south of Millersburg
Kevin Clark, 36, of Kimmel, Ind., was driving an SUV westbound on C.R. 50 just east of U.S. 33 when the vehicle went off the north side of the road, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Clark overcorrected and the vehicle ran off the south side of the road and stuck a utility pole on the passenger side.
Clark suffered facial swelling, bleeding and a broken nose.
Passenger Shannon Barton, 33, of Lingonier was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She suffered severe facial trauma.
Clark and Barton were transported to Goshen General Hospital with “non incapacitating injuries,” according to the sheriff’s department news release.
The second passenger, 3-year-old Logan Jones of Ligonier, was fastened into a child restraint seat and suffered facial bruising. He was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital and his condition is unknown.
The sheriff’s department continues to investigate the accident and no citations were issued at the scene.
