They are both retired.
Their children are Steven (Barbara) Wernicke of Wheaton, Ill.; and Douglas (Michelle) Wernicke of Hope, Mich., and The Villages, Fla. Their grandchildren are Chad Wernicke of Tokyo, Japan; Evelyn (Eric) Roderich of Central, Utah; Marci (Tom) Plahutnik of Saginaw, Mich.; and Andrew (Karla) Wernicke of Glen Ellyn, Ill. They have four great-grandchildren.
