ELKHART — William “Bill” Rutledge, 54, of Elkhart, passed away Jan. 20, 2012.

Bill was born in Pensacola, Fla., to the late Kay Lambdin and the late Gary Rutledge Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra M. Rutledge; brother Gary Rutledge Jr. of Georgia; son Johnnie; and two granddaughters.

Bill was a Harley man and he loved animals. He was a real people person. Bill was laid back and known for being easy going. Everybody loved him.

He earned his GED, scoring third highest in the nation. He earned his high school diploma in 2011. His teacher had him tutor classmates the following year.
