GOSHEN — Rieth-Riley Construction landed an $11 million contract to add travel lanes to I-69 northeast of Indianapolis this summer.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced the contract Wednesday, Feb. 20.

Rieth-Riley will add lanes to I-69 between I-465 and the 116th Street/S.R. 37 interchange as part of the second phase of “Operation Indy Commute,” an INDOT program to improve congestion on that busy section of the interstate highway.

Phase one of that program is set to conclude this spring before Rieth-Riley starts on the second phase, which is supposed to be completed by the end of this year, according to INDOT.

The employee-owned company is involved in a variety of road projects across the state, including S.R. 19 improvements in Elkhart and a recent award of a $58.4 million contract for work on U.S. 31 upgrades in Hamilton County between Carmel and Westfield.
