Central Winter Clinic: Central High School will be staging a fundamentals clinic on Saturday, March 2, for girls in grades 3-6. The full clinic session will run from 9 a.m. to noon with sign-ins at 8:45 a.m. A separate pitching clinic will be conducted from 8-9 a.m. (7:45 a.m. sign-in). Pitchers must provide a catcher. The cost is $15 per athlete, which includes a T-shirt if registration is done by Feb. 23. Registration forms are available at the Central High athletic office. Tipping Point clinics: Sessions by Craig Bush are scheduled at Elkhart Sports Center for Lil Hoopers (four Wednesday sessions beginning March 13), Beginners (Six Friday sessions beginning March 15), Intermediate (six Monday sessions beginning March 11) and Advanced (six Tuesday sessions beginning March 12). Northern Indiana Basketball Series tournaments: Boys in grades 4-8 will play March 9 at West Noble High School, March 16 at Glenn High School and March 23 at Wawasee High School. Penn spring camp: Penn High School’s spring volleyball clinic for girls in grades 6-8 is 3 to 6 p.m. on March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 in the main arena at PHS. Cost is $100. Concord Junior High Make-A-Wish runs: The 5K and 1-mile fun runs are scheduled for 11 a.m. on March 16 at Concord Junior High School. Cost is $10 and will include a T-shirt for the first 300 signed up by March 8. A $35 “family fee” will be charged to families of up to five members. Race day registration will be $15 per person. Sunburst Races: Registration is open for the 30th annual Sunburst Races on May 31 (family fun walk) and June 1 (marathon, half marathon, 10K run, 5K run, 5K fitness walk). Notre Dame Stadium is the finish line for the races. To register online, go to www.sunburstraces.org.
Westview Warrior Wrestling Club camp: The camp for age 5 through fifth grade is scheduled to meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 25 to March 25 in the balcony at Westview Jr./Sr. High School. Memorial elementary camp/Charger Wrestling Club: The EMHS Chargers Elementary Wrestling Camp for grades K-6 is scheduled for March 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13 in the Memorial High School wrestling room. Intrasquad duals are 6:30 p.m. at Memorial. Registration is 6 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the West Gym entrance to Memorial. Cost is $30 per camper. Charger Wrestling Club, run by the Memorial coaching staff, will offer folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling for age 4 through high school. There will be an open room on Tuesdays and Thursdays (times to be determined), beginning March 19. Northridge clinic: Northridge High School baseball coaching staff and players will hold a clinic for grades K-8 March 9 and 16 on the NHS varsity field (or in the Heritage Intermediate School gym if weather dictates), Registration will be 15 minutes before the start of the clinic. Grades K-3 will meet 11:30 to 1 p.m. and Grades 4-8 from 1:30 to 3. Cost is $15 for one session or $25 for both. Northern Indiana Adult Baseball League, South Bend Semi-Pro Baseball League meetings: Another organizational meetings for 2013 is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at the St. Joseph County Library in downtown South Bend. The NABL plays on weekends mid-April through Labor Day. The SBSPBL runs from early June to August to fit the needs of those in college. All managers are welcome to attend.
