SEBRING, Fla. — Donald Lynn Oakley, 70, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in Sebring.
Mr. Oakley was born in Mishawaka, Ind., on April 25, 1942, to Floyd and Sybil (Eby) Oakley. He married Jackie (Burks) on Feb. 12, 1961, and they recently celebrated 52 years of marriage. He was part of the first graduating class at Penn High School in 1960.
Don worked many years as a brick mason and also worked in sales at Skylark, Parkwood, Dometic and was co-owner of Superior Structures. He retired and enjoyed his summers on Corey Lake and wintering in Avon Park. He enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time with his family and friends. He was always known as the “guy that can fix anything.”
Mr. Oakley is survived by his wife, Jackie Oakley of Three Rivers, Mich.; son Doug Oakley (Sara) of Carmel, Ind.; daughter Jill Tepe of Bristol, Ind.; sister Linda Kintner (Bob) of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, Alex, Sam and Max Oakley and Derek, Ross and Morgan Tepe; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date at Corey Lake in Three Rivers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Eberhart in Three Rivers.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park.
