ELKHART — City officials will host a meeting Wednesday night, Feb. 20, for residents who live near Studebaker Park and will be affected by an upcoming sewer and road project.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the Studebaker Park Pavilion, 1020 McDonald St.

The construction is part of the combined sewer overflow project mandated by the state and federal government in an effort to remove raw sewage from area waterways.

The project will begin in late spring and will continue for four or five months, said Tory Irwin, utility engineer for the city.

Much of the work will be concentrated north of the park. Streets that will be either reconstructed or resurfaced include Middlebury Street between Simpson Avenue and Denver Street and parts of Evans Street, Floral Court, Carolyn Avenue and Baker Drive.
