HOLLAND, MICH. — An Elkhart native has published a book linking spiritual and physical health.

Dr. Ryan Bentley, a 1995 graduate of Concord High School, said his book, “Vessels That Thrive: Choosing a Lifestyle of Health, Healing, and Faith” takes a comprehensive look at the connection between spirituality and health.

“It’s blending the best of science and scripture into one book,” he said.

Bentley said the book encourages people to take their Christian faith and apply it to the way they treat their health.

“People claim to believe in a higher purpose and a higher being but don’t realize the body is God’s temple and their lifestyle is destroying that temple,” he said. “If you say you believe in the word of God and in who He says He is, you need to be more prudent in caring for the body you’ve been given.”

Bentley lives in Holland, Mich., with his wife Terra, a 1993 Concord High School graduate, and their three children.
