ELKHART — Dr. William Buckley has been named chief of staff at Elkhart General Hospital.

In his new role, Buckley said he looks to improve physician unity for the general welfare of the profession as well as better patient care.

Buckley received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, Tenn., and was chief resident at Methodist Hospitals of Memphis. He is board certified in internal medicine.

He is chairman of the board of the Elkhart Clinic and is an active member of the Indiana State Medical Society.
