SOUTH BEND — The deadlines are approaching for the Biennial 27 and Sightings art events.

The Bienniel 27 deadline for entry (postmark) is April 1. Bienniel 27 is open to artists in Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. All media are eligible. The juror will be Lisa Freiman, senior curator and chair of the department of contemporary art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Entry fee is $30 and exhibiting artists are allotted about 24 feet of running wall space.

The South Bend Museum of Art is seeking large-scale two- and three-dimensional artwork for long-term display in Sightlines, a new project between the SBMA and the Century Center. The two-year exhibition will highlight five artists, and indoor and outdoor sites are available. Artist submission review and selection will be done by representatives from the SBMA and the Century Center. There is no entry fee, and a $1,000 stipend will be given to each selected artist.
