ELKHART — Vivian L. Hook, 94, of Elkhart, passed away at 5:08 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.
She was born Nov. 18, 1918, in Elkhart to Leroy and Selma (Carlson) Ferm. She married Charles D. Hook on May 10, 1937, in South Bend. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet (Edward) Blyly and Judy (Jim) Laws, both of Elkhart; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A sister, Katherine Baker, preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. The Rev. Mike Fisher of Grace Bible Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery.
Mrs. Hook worked at C.G. Conn, CTS and Sykes Jewelry Store. She retired from Bayer Corp. after 12 years in the credit department.
She was a member of Albright Church, past member of WMS Credit Association and previously active in the WMS Democratic Party. She called herself a “zipper” because she was always on the go. She loved traveling, knitting and baking.
