Host Westview’s quest for a Class 2A boys basketball sectional three-peat will start with Bremen.

The No. 7-ranked Warriors (17-2) drew the Lions (9-9) when pairings for the 103rd annual state tournament were drawn Sunday afternoon, Feb. 17, by the IHSAA. The two teams do not face each other during the regular season.

The survivor of their opening-round game on Tuesday, Feb. 26, goes against Central Noble (4-14) in the first semifinal that Friday. Fremont (11-7) faces LaVille (13-6) in Tuesday’s second game, with that winner meeting Prairie Heights (10-11) in Friday’s second semifinal.

Westview — which clinched the Northeast Corner Conference title Saturday by virtue of West Noble’s loss to Angola — is seeking its fifth sectional trophy in the last seven years.
