FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Elkhart Memorial grad Karvel Anderson scored 13 points and Robert Morris held off Sacred Heart’s late rally in a 68-63 win on Saturday.

Anthony Myers-Pate finished with 11 points for the Colonials (18-9, 10-4 Northeast Conference), who have won four of their last five games. Lucky Jones and Mike McFadden each scored 10 points.

Robert Morris had a 16-point lead with 3:49 left to play after Russell Johnson made two free throws. Sacred Heart went on a 15-1 run, capped by Shane Gibson’s 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 65-63 with 1:15 remaining.

But the Pioneers (9-15, 7-6), who have lost two straight games, were unable to score the rest of the way. Jones made a free throw and Johnson added two more from the line to give the Colonials enough cushion.

Gibson led Sacred Heart with 17 points. Louis Montes had 15 points and nine rebounds and Tevin Falzon added 11 points.
