ELKHART — Elkhart City council will review several spending requests with special meetings set for the final week of the month.

On Monday, Feb. 25, the Finance Committee of the Whole, which consists of the entire city council, will review funding for the Prairie Street overpass.

A second ordinance scheduled for review in that meeting involves funding for sewer work.

On Thursday, Feb. 28, the same committee will review a request to use money from the city’s Major Moves Construction Fund to fund part of the costs for the Shoppes on Six development on the north side of the city.

The committee will review the topics and then send a recommendation to the council, which has final authority on the spending requests.

A separate issue involving fully funding city workers and scraping plans for city-wide furloughs is not on the agenda for either meeting and will be addressed at a later time.

Both meetings begin at 6 p.m.
