The lake effect snow advisory issued Friday, Feb. 15, is still in effect for northern Indiana.

The National Weather Service forecast says that heavy lake effect snow will begin Saturday night, Feb. 16, and continue Sunday morning.

Snowfall totals of 3 to 6 inches are possible north of U.S. 6, and up to 8 inches could fall near the Indiana-Michigan border.

Travel on the snow-covered roads will likely be hampered, especially on the Indiana Toll Road, the weather service said.
