They are both retired.
Their children are Steven (Barbara) Wernicke of Wheaton, Ill., and Douglas (Michelle) Wernicke of Hope, Mich. Their grandchildren are Chad Wernicke of Tokyo, Japan, Evelyn (Eric) Roderich of Central, Utah, Marci (Tom) Plahutnik of Saginaw, Mich., and Andrew (Karla) Wernicke of Glen Ellyn, Ill. They have four great-grandchildren.
