Engine failure causes emergency landing at Elkhart Municipal Airport

ELKHART — An aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at Elkhart Municipal Airport Friday afternoon, Feb. 15, after experiencing engine failure at 10,000 feet.

Elkhart City Dispatch received a call at 5:08 p.m. reporting that an aircraft experiencing engine problems needed to make an emergency landing at the airport.

Airport Manager Andy Jones said the aircraft was flying from Schaumberg, Ill., to Montreal with four people on board.

The aircraft was towed to the Indiana Flight Center for a mechanical examination, Jones said.
