Road Runs
Concord Junior High Make-A-Wish runs: The 5K and 1-mile fun runs are scheduled for 11 a.m. on March 16 at Concord Junior High School. Cost is $10 and will include a T-shirt for the first 300 signed up by March 8. A $35 “family fee” will be charged to families of up to five members. Race day registration will be $15 per person. Registration forms and more information is available at http://Juniorhigh.Concord.k12.in.us. Since 1995, CJHS has raised more than $250,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Sunburst Races: Registration is open for the 30th annual Sunburst Races May 31 (family fun walk) and June 1 (marathon, half marathon, 10K run, 5K run, 5K fitness walk). Notre Dame Stadium is the finish line for the races. To register online, go to www.sunburstraces.org.
Wrestling
Memorial elementary camp/Charger Wrestling Club: The EMHS Chargers Elementary Wrestling Camp for grades K-6 is scheduled for March 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13 in the Memorial High School wrestling room. Intrasquad duals are 6:30 p.m. at Memorial. Registration is 6 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the West gym entrance to Memorial. Cost is $30 per camper. Charger Wrestling Club, run by the Memorial coaching staff, will offer folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling for ages 4 through high school. There will be an open room on Tuesdays and Thursdays (times to be determined), beginning March 19. Baseball
Northridge clinic: Northridge High School baseball coaching staff and players will hold a clinic for grades K-8 on March 9, and March 16 on the NHS varsity field (or in the Heritage Intermediate School gym if weather dictates), Registration will be 15 minutes before the start of the clinic. Grades K-3 will meet 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and grades 4-8 from 1:30 to 3. Cost is $15 for one session or $25 for both. Indiana Eastlake Chargers 13U & 14U tryouts: The Elkhart Eastlake Chargers will hold tryouts for its 13U and 14U summer travel teams at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 16 and 17, at Eastlake Chargers Baseball/Softball Academy at Eastlake Athletic Club, 3400 Henke Road, Elkhart. Northern Indiana Cardinals 10U: The Northern Indiana Cardinals have a few roster spots available for the 2013 travel baseball season. Northern Indiana Adult Baseball League, South Bend Semi-Pro Baseball League meetings: Organizational meetings for 2013 are scheduled for 1 p.m. on the following Saturdays — Feb. 16 and March 23 — at the St. Joseph County Library in downtown South Bend. The NABL plays on weekends mid-April through Labor Day. The SBSPBL runs from early June to August to fit the needs of those in college. All managers are welcome to attend.
