Oct. 4, 1915 - Feb. 12, 2013

PLYMOUTH — Inez M. Witmer, 97, of Plymouth, formerly of Nappanee and Osceola, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, in her home.

She was born Oct. 4, 1915, in Elkhart County, near Nappanee, to Mervin G. and Elmeda (Wagner) Michael.

She married Mervin H. Witmer Nov. 6, 1949, in Wyatt. He preceded her in death April 25, 1996.

Mrs. Witmer was a graduate of Nappanee High School. She was a former 4-H junior and senior leader and was the first 4-H Fair Queen for Elkhart County.

Surviving are a son, Timothy Witmer of Plymouth; two granddaughters, Brandi and Brittany Witmer, both of Lafayette; and brother Earl (Mary) Michael of Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Ann Venckus; and brothers Glenn “Mike,” Harold and Paul Michael.

Friends and family may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice.
