The accident occurred at the intersection of C.R. 34 and C.R. 37, just east of the Elkhart County Fairgrounds. Two vans were involved.
According to a report from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Andrew Duggins, 26, of Johnson City, Tenn., was driving a white van south on C.R. 37 when he drove past a stop sign and hit a blue mini van.
The force of the impact pushed the mini van off the road and into a field southeast of the intersection. The mini van landed on its side.
The driver, Glen Miller, 76, of Goshen, and passenger, Wanda Helmuth of Topeka, were taken to IU Health Goshen. Miller had minor bleeding from his head. Helmuth complained of a headache and pain to her right knee.
Duggins was also taken to IU Health Goshen with neck pain and numbness to the left side of his face.
Emergency crews from Millersburg and Clinton Township fire departments responded to the call as did the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department and Goshen EMS.
