GOSHEN — The City of Goshen has issued a boil order effective immediately for Beckner Street between Greene Road and Lynwood Drive.

The water main will be shut down from 11 a.m. to noon so that a water main break can be repaired.

During a boil order, water should be boiled before drinking. Showers, baths and laundry are safe, as is flushing toilets. Dishwashers are safe if they have a sanitizing cycle; if not, dishes should be rinsed with boiled or bottled water.

Once the repair is finished, two consecutive water samples will be taken and analyzed for bacteria. The boil order will be lifted if both samples pass. People in the area will receive a flier in the door when it will be lifted.
