ELKHART — Doris J. Forrest, 84, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born April 29, 1928, in Elkhart to George and Mary Kiefer. She married Charles W. Forrest on Aug. 25, 1946, in Elkhart. He died Aug. 12, 2009.

Surviving are two daughters, Peggy (Don) Presser of Bristol and Cathy (Bill) Johnson of West Chester, Ohio; three granddaughters, Elizabeth, Jenna and Lauren Johnson; and one sister, Phyllis Wysong of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by a brother, David Kiefer; and a sister, Nancy Kiefer.

Doris retired after 24 years from Miles Laboratories as a distribution manager. She enjoyed family gatherings.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, and an hour prior to the noon service Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the funeral home. The Rev. John Hogsett will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be given to the Alzheimers Foundation.
