LOWVILLE, N.Y. — Margaret Ann Nye, 78, of Lowville, formerly of Elkhart, Ind., passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, after an illness.
Margaret Ann Hulbert was born July 21, 1934, to Giles and Helen Hulbert in her grandmother’s home in Dadville. She married Robert W. Nye on March 2, 1963. He preceded her in death in 1990. Her loving companion, Lowell Bumpus, preceded her in death in 1994.
Surviving are her four daughters, Wendy Hosler of Marinsburg, Susan (Marty) Ingersoll of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Amy (Darrel) Randall of Goshen, Ind., and Jody (Jerry) Smith of Bristol, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Tara (Scott) Benson of Carthage, Jamie (Bill) Steria of Martinsburg, Jennifer (Anny Gouin) Randall of South Bend, Ind., Jeffery (Misty Garner) Glick of Elkhart, Jousha (Brandy) Randall of Goshen, Brandon (Jillian) Glick of Myrtle Beach, David (Marybeth) Hosler of Martinsburg, Steven (Kathy) Glick of Milden Hill, U.K, Scot (Kim) Smith of Elkhart and Alexandra Smith of Bristol; 17 great-grandchildren; and siblings William (Marcia) Hulbert of Auburn, Ind., and Linda (Sam) Harrington of Granger, Ind.
Preceding her in death were her parents; twin children Billy and Barbara Ann; brother David Hulbert; sister Donna Troyer; and great-granddaughter Mykayla Lynn Benson.
She was known for her love of learning, adventurous spirit and her sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family, playing “Madame Nanny” for her grandchildren, gardening, cooking and bird watching, and she had a love of music.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
A celebration of life visitation will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.
