Students from Goshen’s Merit Learning Center ventured across town Tuesday, Feb. 12, to Kroger to assist senior citizens as they load their groceries following shopping. Tuesdays mark senior citizen’s day at Kroger and students worked in two shifts to help shoppers with heavy carts to their cars and unload the carts.

Kristen Watt, Merit’s principal, said that Merit usually does several random acts of kindness the week of Valentine’s Day. This week, those acts include helping out at The Window in downtown Goshen, volunteering at Soup of Success and delivering carnations to Greencroft residents.

Merit Learning Center is an alternative school in Goshen that works with Goshen, Concord, Fairfield, Jimtown and Northridge high schools.
