ELKHART — A wind advisory is in effect for Elkhart County until 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12.

The National Weather Service reports southwest winds will increase Monday to around 30 MPH with gusts reaching 45 to 50 MPH.

Driving high-profile vehicles may become difficult at times under the wind advisory. A wind ban has been issued for the entire length of the Indiana Toll Road from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday. The ban applies for all triple tractor-trailers, long-doubles and high-profile oversize permit loads, according to Toll Road officials.

The NWS also asked for residents to be cautious of scattered trees and utility line damage.

High temperatures between 36 and 42 degrees are expected this week, with a possibility of lake effect snow Friday through Sunday. There is a 30 percent chance of snow showers in Elkhart on Monday.
