Crume going to wrestling State Finals for fourth time

FORT WAYNE — Jimtown senior Nick Crume (126 pounds) defended his Fort Wayne Semistate wrestling title Saturday at Memorial Coliseum and was one of nine competitors from The Elkhart Truth area to qualify for next weekend's IHSAA State Finals.

Also moving on to Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis are Concord junior DeLawrence Gayfield (second at 113), Elkhart Central senior Johnny Tredway (second at 160), Jimtown senior Cody Koebel (third at 132), Jimtown senior Tanner Adams (third at 170), NorthWood senior Zach Telschow (third at 182), Fairfield freshman Blake Glogouski (fourth at 106), Fairfield senior Brett Martz (fourth at 126) and Goshen senior Hayden Schmucker (fourth at heavyweight).

The nine advancers were among the 17 area grapplers to participate in the “ticket” round, vying to be in the top four required for the State Finals berth.
