ELKHART — Mary C. Valentine, 83, of Elkhart, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Greenleaf Assisted Living Center.

She was born on Aug. 15, 1929, in New Braunfels, Texas, to Ray and Zela (Kempf) Bauer.

She married Ray Valentine on June 20, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1986.

Surviving are three children, Cynthia (John) Swoveland of New Paris, Rhonda (Randy) Doering of West Chester, Ohio, and Ronald (Cindy) Valentine of Bristol. Also surviving are four grandchildren and one sister, Theresa Martin of LaPorte.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Bauer.

Mary enjoyed golfing for more than 40 years and was a member of the Four Arts Club, the Elks at Christiana Creek Country Club, and the 18-hole club. She was also a member of Fun Timers and Dunlap United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.

Visitation for Mary will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the funeral home.
