ELKHART — A man only complained of dizziness after he was pulled out of his rolled over vehicle Saturday, Feb. 9.

John Healey of Elkhart was driving west on U.S. 33 near Tower Road when, upon approaching a line of stopped vehicles, he hit the brakes and swerved to the side of the road, causing his truck to roll over to the driver’s side, said Evan Boggs of the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

The accident happened sometime around 12:19 p.m., according to dispatch.

Drivers passing by stopped to help Healey get out of the vehicle. Scott Phebus, one of the people who stopped, said he was driving west on U.S. 33 when he saw the truck on its side and people around it. He said he had some chains and was going to offer pulling the truck back up on its wheels, but instead he helped pull Healey out.

Baugo Township Fire Department and St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department deputies also responded to the scene.
