Nov. 19, 1939 - Feb. 2, 2013
MISHAWAKA — Jeanlea Cowsert, 73, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.
Born on Nov. 19, 1939, Jeanlea Capelli has been called on by our Lord who has prepared a glorious place for her in His Kingdom!
She struggled in the end with COPD and lung disease. She was 73-years-young.
As a young adult, she participated in Girl Scouts, twirled baton, played piano, loved movies and wrote to movie stars. She finished her high school diploma in night school at Mishawaka High School.
Jeanie and Joseph Cowsert had two daughters.
She worked for Burger Dairy, Ski-Tow Trailer factory and Jim Nolan’s Discount Sales until finally settling at ATT (Indiana Bell) as an information operator, which she retired from after 25 years of service and took with her numerous loyal friends, that remain so to this day.
Jeanie loved to read, collect stamps, travel to Vegas for a bit of gambling, collecting collectable shoes and playing the piano. She loved her family, especially her granddaughter, Leah.
She was baptized at Granger Community Church in 2008 where her family attended. She loved her country and was a very generous soul. She gave to every charity that called. Jeanie didn’t want much from life, just two daughters and a piano. She got both.
Preceding her in death was her first born, Julie Cowsert.
Survivors include, Leah Cowsert (Granddaughter); Jenny (Shea Hawkins) Cowsert (Daughter) and Jilene Schori (Kyle Schori) Cowsert (Daughter); David Capelli (Brother); LeAnne Deluca (Sister); and Jonnie Parnell (Sister).
Jeanie directed her life in such a fashion as to always be in a position to help others, especially her family.
Mom we will miss you terribly and will try to live as you have taught us. “Were are all here to help each other.”
Funeral services for Jeanie will be at noon Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. Burial will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
The family wishes donations be made to Center for Hospice Care.
