“Michiana’s Hottest Artist Awards” to honor local musicians Friday

ELKHART – The third annual “Michiana’s Hottest Artist Awards” will honor local rap and R&B talent this Friday, Feb. 8, at Club 112, 112 Second St., Elkhart.
The event will begin with artists walking the red carpet from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the awards ceremony at 9:30 p.m.
Event organizer Antwon Williams, owner of Lowd Mouf Entertainment, said awards will be presented to “Michiana’s Hottest” artist, crew, live performer and producer.
The awards include a trophy, cash prize and artist development, as well as the opportunity to appear on a local mix tape called “The City: Volume 2,” Williams said.
“We want to try and support local hip hop and R&B artists,” Williams said. “We want to do something positive with the music.”
An after party will be held at The Big Easy, 160 Easy Shopping Place.
Tickets to the awards ceremony and party are available at the door for $20.
