LIGONIER — Doreen Kay Nichols, 49, passed away at her home Sunday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2013, after battling cancer.
She was born Oct. 9, 1963, in Goshen to James Wendell and Juva (Gall) Snavely.
She married Jeremy Nichols on Dec. 31, 1987, in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
He survives along with their six children, Chad Nichols of Kansas City, Mo., Tosha (Manny) Rodriguez of Goshen, and Trent, Brittany, Zachary and Cassie Nichols, all of Ligonier; a grandson, Ezekiah Rodriguez; her mother, Juva Snavely of Ligonier; a sister, Carma L. (Gaylord) Diaz of Ligonier; and two brothers, Michael (Charlene) Snavely of Ligonier and Gregory A. (Nanci) Snavely of North Webster.
She was preceded in death by her father, James “Wendell” Snavely on Sept. 2, 2009.
A homemaker, Doreen attended and was very involved in Voice Ministries, Elkhart and Faith Fellowship, Syracuse. She loved to worship, garden and attend at her children’s activities.
Friends may gather for one hour prior to the memorial service at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Voice Ministries, 1610 S. Nappanee St., Elkhart.
A private family graveside service and burial were conducted at Baintertown Cemetery, New Paris.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to International House of Prayer Michiana or World Missionary Press.
Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
