GOSHEN — Anna Frances “Fran” Zimmerman Wenger, 79, passed away early Saturday morning, Feb. 2, 2013, at Greencroft Goshen Health Care.

She had battled cancer since October.

She was born Oct. 4, 1933, in Blue Ball, Pa., to Eli B. and Mary Ellen (Martin) Zimmerman.

She married Marion “Mario” Wenger on Aug. 7, 1965, in Goshen.

He survives along with a daughter, Maria Wenger of Atlanta; two sons, Joel Wenger of Fortville and Mark Wenger of Elkhart; five grandchildren; five sisters, Marian, Kathryn, Mary Jane, Ellie and Sylvia; and a brother, Raymond Zimmerman.

She was a member of College Mennonite Church. Dr. Wenger served as Director of Nursing at Goshen College.

An avid traveler, she was very interested in different cultures.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 4, 2013, at College Mennonite Church where a 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, memorial service will be conducted. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.

Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting with funeral arrangements.
