Fundraising walk Feb. 16 will help Elkhart Countys homeless

About 100 people took part in a Homeward Bound Walk at Concord High School Feb. 18, 2012. This is the second year at Concord for Homeward Bound, which is a statewide walk series aimed at ending homelessness and providing affordable housing in Indiana. (Truth Photo By Mark Shephard)


The Homeward Bound walk raises funds for organizations in Elkhart County that work to end homelessness.
Agencies that will benefit from the walk this year include Church Community Services, Emerge Ministries, Goshen Interfaith Hospitality Network, Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County, iFiT, LaCasa, Minority Health Coalition of Elkhart County and The Window.
The event will be Feb. 16 at Concord Mall, 3701 S. Main St. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., with the walk starting at 9:45 a.m.
Participants may also register before the walk by visiting homewardboundindiana.org/elkhart-county.
General admission for the festivities is $5 for people who are not fundraising for the event.
For those who wish to donate, but are unable to attend, pledge forms and donations can be dropped off or mailed to several locations; Church Community Services, 906 Oakland Ave., Elkhart; LaCasa, Inc., 202 N.
