SHIPSHEWANA — Wilma S. Wingard, 89, of Shipshewana, died at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at her residence.

She was born June 22, 1923, in Haven, Kan., to Samuel T. and Mary (Borntrager) Schrock. On Dec. 23, 1943, in LaGrange County, she married Perry J. Wingard; he died Sept. 30, 1972.

Surviving are children Mary Ellen (David P.) Yoder, Esther L. (Earl R.) Miller, Alice (Daniel J.) Bontrager, Linda (Freeman O.) Miller, Velda F. (Harry Jr.) Stutzman, Ruth Ann (Melvin J.) Miller, Melvin (Brenda) Wingard, Elmer L. (Leanna) Wingard and Perry Jr. (Fannie) Wingard; 52 grandchildren; 155 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and siblings Katie Eash, Emma Mullet and Eli Schrock.

She was preceded by one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and siblings Sam, Felty, Ed and Levi Schrock and Clara Schrock, Anna Miller and Sarah Neolle.

Visitation will be all day today, Feb. 1, 2013, at the Jerry Hochstetler residence, 9615 W. 375 N., Shipshewana, where a funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013. Burial will be in Naylor Cemetery, Shipshewana.
