Several local students will be using their math smarts in competition against other area students Saturday.

Students from five local schools will be at the annual MathCounts contest at Notre Dame Saturday. Top teams and individuals from that competition will continue on to the Indiana State Competition March 9 at Purdue University. The winners there will go on to the 2013 Raytheon MathCounts National Competition in Washington D.C.

Concord Junior High, Northridge Middle School, Trinity Lutheran, Schmucker Middle School and Discover Middle School will be at the contest.
