BROWNSBURG, Ind. — Doris Lorraine Kasey, 75, of Brownsburg, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, following a long battle with cancer.
Doris was born Dec. 23, 1937, in Goshen to Benjamin Franklin and Mary Myree (Bailey) Swihart. She was an avid gardener with a generous heart, who loved to read and made the best pork roast and cherry pie that any family has ever been treated to.
She was preceded in death by brother Richard Swihart and sister Marjorie Miller.
She is survived by sisters Karolyn Kern of Bristol and Naomi (Tom) Pohl of Ottawa, Ohio; her husband of 51 years, Frederick S. Kasey; and their children, Pam (Evan Hansen) Kasey, Vicki Applegate, Kraig Kasey and Tina De La Fuente (Noe); and grandchildren Reese Hansen, Sara, Casey and Emily Applegate and Kristen Shepherd.
The viewing will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, and the funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon.
She will be buried in Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
