ELKHART — Elkhart’s Azariah Stahl has earned a 2013 Women’s Junior National Team tryout invitation from USA Volleyball and is planning to attend in her bid to repeat as a team member.

Tryouts are set for Feb. 22-24 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The Central High School junior was a member of the 12-player U.S. Junior Team that competed last August at the NORCECA Continental Championships in Nicaragua.

The 2013 team will play in FIVB World Championships June 21-30 in the Czech Republic — a spot earned by last season’s team in Nicaragua.

Stahl helped secure that berth when she led all players with 11 points on seven kills, two blocks and two aces as the U.S. beat Costa Rica 25-18, 25-14, 25-22 in the bronze medal match.
