NILES, Mich. — Marjorie Ellen Milliken, 79, born Jan. 21, 1934, moved to her forever heavenly home Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s.
She left behind her faithful, loving husband of almost 59 years, Wayne Milliken.
She and Wayne were farmers in Bremen, Ind., and moved to Niles in 1961. After retirement they were able to spend winters in Naples, Fla., and summers in Niles. They were also able to travel to many places around the world including Brazil, South America, where they arrived via a river plane to visit a mission hospital they had helped to fund.
Marjorie loved to crochet, sew, garden, teach Sunday school and hold her grandbabies.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne, and children Janet (Ken) Baker, James (Lorenna) Milliken and Jill (Edward) Medren; siblings Theodore Haas, Fred Haas, Dorothy Cline, Ralph Haas, Evelyn Leiter, Kay Russell, Arthur Haas and Nancy Lambert; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at McGann Hay Granger Chapel, 13260 S.R. 23, Granger, enter off Cherry Road. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Pastor Ken Baker, son-in-law, and Dr. Dan Gelatt. Burial will follow in Bremen.
